When Your Solar Needs a Net: Solar Net Metering

Posted on September 14, 2016

People often wonder if it’s possible to put a solar panel on a property that actually makes the energy meter “spin backwards” and make money on a solar system. Some states let you do this and some do not. The hyperlink below is to a website that I found recently giving you the “where and how” that you are allowed to do Solar Net metering. I wanted to share it with you. Special note: In the states that list that you can do it in multifamily, typically this means that you can resale the Solar to the residents before sending off the surplus power to the grid. I dream of this. I love the idea of selling energy to my residents that I have generated onsite. It’s like Farm to Table….but with energy!
