Update on Water Restrictions in California

Posted on May 7, 2015

As of April 1, 2015, the Governor Brown has called for a Mandatory 25% reduction in water use in Urban Areas.  The new water restrictions (and the penalties that will follow) are going to impact Multifamily communities.  Where we, as an industry, will see the greatest impact is in our irrigation practices and landscape appearance. If you have properties in California, I recommend that you click on the link below and review the restrictions updated for the Cities in which your properties dwell.  Some of the Cities have added penalties to their program and restricted the days of the week, and the hours during the day that you can water.

I wonder who will be the first among us to let their grass die and who among us will just continue to water like we don’t actually have an issue, in effect, sticking their heads in the sand. (The Very Dry Sand)
