We are pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s Utility Management Advisory (UMA) Sustainability and Innovation Award is Simpson Housing.
The Sustainability and Innovation award celebrates excellence in energy, water and / or trash management, as well as projects demonstrating measurable enhancements in sustainability practices.
Earning the award was Simpson Housing’s project “Building Certification Initiative”.
As a result of this initiative, Simpson Housing was awarded Sustainability Certifications for 20% of their portfolio in less than 90 days.
To achieve this, the Simpson Housing team worked on multiple projects concurrently, validating utility data for accuracy while simultaneously performing building audits, checking light levels, drafting all applications, and correlating the documentation. This was a tremendous collaborative effort between leadership, facilities, vendors, and onsite teams.
