Energy Stats by State

Posted on December 8, 2014

Did you ever wonder how much energy a particular state produces or consumes? If you are a member or UMA or are reading this blog post, then odds are you may have given some thought to which commodity fuels your local power grid, but did you ever wonder which states produce the most of those commodities? In a recent news story, Ohio was list as a crude oil producing state. Being from Ohio, I found that hard to believe. Natural gas, sure, but oil? I did some research and found this interesting site that breaks down production and consumption metrics for each state. Sure enough, Ohio produced over 8 million barrels of oil in 2013. Who would of thought?
